If you’re someone who’s ~extremely~ online and loves to post on social media, use those skills to spread the word about Jaime! Regardless of what platforms you’re on, we need YOUR help to make sure that we flood the Internet with news about our campaign. You have a unique voice and story that you’re bringing to this campaign, so posts and shares coming directly from you will impact your online networks more than we can. So what are some things you can do?
Well, to start, make sure you’re following us online! We’re active on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and we’re always posting about the news of the day, issues that matter to South Carolinians, and updates from the campaign. That’s a great place to look to find posts that you can easily re-share and spread to friends and family.
If you want to take it a step further, start sharing your own story of why you support Jaime! Again, your story is going to be more impactful and relatable to folks you know, and seeing it will help bring new folks into learning more about Jaime. You can talk about a specific issue you’re passionate about, a story you have about Jaime, or why you’re excited to see him in the Senate. Use the hashtags #TeamJaime or #SendLindseyHome when you’re posting, and make sure to always tag us @harrisonjaime. Check out our Social Team Guidelines for some more ideas.
If talking is more your style, film a supporter video for the campaign! These are great because they help showcase our supporters, show how passionate y’all are, and how strong this movement is. Check out our Supporter Video Guidelines for more info on how to get started!
We have so many amazing and energized supporters across the Internet, so if you’re looking to connect with some like-minded Jaime Harrison supporters, join one of our Facebook groups! We have a Team Jaime group, a Women for Jaime group, and a Students for Jaime group! As a part of one or all of these groups, you’ll be able to chat with other supporters, share fun articles, and see updates from us. You can also use these groups as inspiration to share campaign info & updates with your personal Facebook friends or start your own supporter Facebook group!
And finally, if you’re super fired up for Jaime and really want to leverage your social media for the campaign, take initiative on organizing folks for the campaign! Find other supporters on social media, send them DM’s or encourage them to get involved, create your own content or graphics, and start your own online groups to help amplify our content. Whether that’s a Twitter DM group, an Instagram group, or a Facebook page/group, mobilizing other folks you find online or from your area to become more active in the campaign is a fantastic way to utilize social media.
With more and more folks connecting and meeting online these days, we need to make sure we’re reaching all of them where they are. Social media is one of the best and most important ways to do that, but we can’t do it alone. We really encourage you to take a look at some of these ideas, think about how you can contribute, and start spreading the word!
