Columbia, S.C. — Today, Sen. Lindsey Graham is focused on rushing Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett through a judiciary hearing rather than working to ensure the needs of his constituents are met.

“Throughout this pandemic, Sen. Graham has put political games in Washington above the needs of South Carolinians, and today is no different,” Harrison said. “Rather than pushing for immediate COVID relief for millions of South Carolinians, Lindsey is rushing to confirm a Supreme Court nominee. Right now in South Carolina, over 150,000 South Carolinians have tested positive for the coronavirus and over 3,000 South Carolinians have died from it. Shame on Lindsey for not standing up for South Carolina.”

The Senate is standing in the way of a COVID relief package, and Sen. Graham has been one of the chief obstructionists, saying “over our dead bodies” would he work to extend COVID relief benefits.
