Columbia, S.C. — Today, Leader Stacey Abrams, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate and former Georgia State House Minority Leader, endorsed Jaime Harrison’s candidacy for U.S. Senate in South Carolina.
“Jaime Harrison has been a strong leader for the people of South Carolina, and he will make a great U.S. Senator,” Leader Stacey Abrams said. “He will work hard to address inequalities in rural health care and infrastructure that hurt too many. I am proud to support Jaime Harrison as the next U.S. Senator for South Carolina.”
“Stacey is a leader who understands the everyday challenges faced by working Southern families, in areas both rural and urban,” Harrison said. “Her historic campaign for governor inspired millions and helped mobilize a movement for a more inclusive and people-centered way of governing. She has for many years worked to ensure voters of all racial and economic backgrounds can have their voices heard at the ballot box — a fundamental right in our democracy but one that is constantly under attack, especially for African-Americans and minority voters. I am honored to receive Stacey’s endorsement and look forward to working with her as a U.S. Senator to make progress on the issues that matter most to South Carolinians — like healthcare, infrastructure and broadband access.”
