Columbia, S.C. —  Today, Jaime Harrison, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, slammed Lindsey Graham for breaking his oath of impartiality to defend a President he didn’t even vote for. Lindsey Graham voted for independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin during the 2016 election.

“From his flip-flop on witnesses to his refusal to abide by his oath of impartiality, Sen. Graham has shamelessly stood by a President he didn’t even vote for,” Harrison said. “The only consistent attribute Lindsey Graham has is his hunger for political relevance. There’s not a bone in his body that holds up South Carolina’s values of fairness, honesty and justice.”

Previously a fierce advocate for fair and judicious impeachment trials, Sen. Lindsey Graham has shown his true colors and his sycophancy towards President Donald J. Trump. In recent weeks, Graham has stated he was “not trying to pretend to be a fair juror”, despite taking an oath to do “impartial justice.”

Graham has also made clear his intention to hijack the trial and fix an acquittal for the President by advocating for no additional evidence or witnesses to take the stand. He stated he wants “to end this crap [the impeachment trial] as quickly as possible”, and he said “I hope nobody will be called as a witness.”
