Columbia, S.C. —   Today, Jaime Harrison, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, released a statement condemning Lindsey Graham for his pathetic record on healthcare issues.

“From repeatedly voting against the Affordable Care Act to his inaction on rural hospital closures to his vocal opposition to a medicaid expansion, Lindsey Graham has made it clear that the health, safety and security of all South Carolinians aren’t on his priority list,” Harrison said. “I remember my family couldn’t afford to visit the doctor, and as a result my grandpa, after living for years with undiagnosed diabetes, lost a leg. This issue is personal to me. As South Carolina’s next U.S. Senator, I will work to ensure access to quality, affordable healthcare for all people across the country.”

Under Lindsey Graham’s watch, four rural hospitals have closed and more than 100 nationwide. Over 200,000 South Carolinians remain uninsured, and the state of South Carolina has refused to expand Medicaid.
