Columbia, S.C. — Today, Jaime Harrison, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, accepted the invitations to four South Carolina debates against Sen. Lindsey Graham ahead of November’s election.
Sen. Graham has not responded to Harrison’s June 10 letter challenging him to four debates.
“Though we disagree on many issues, South Carolinians deserve to hear directly from their leaders about the urgent issues facing them, especially in this time of increased economic and public health uncertainty,” Harrison said. “Lindsey Graham has avoided in-person town halls for years, and it is time that he finally takes tough questions about his record. For the benefit of voters throughout South Carolina, I hope he accepts these invitations, because all South Carolinians deserve the opportunity to hear from their candidates for U.S. Senate.”
Harrison has accepted invitations to debate from:
- WIS on October 3
Columbia, also airing in Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Charlotte, Augusta, and Savannah
- South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and WSPA on October 12
Spartanburg, also airing in Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Aiken
- Post and Courier/SCETV on October 21
Columbia, also airing statewide
- CNN in October
We continue to review other invitations.
