“…he’s a centrist, a practical leader who has worked to move his party to the middle where most Americans live.”

Columbia, S.C. — The Charleston City Paper’s editorial board today endorsed Jaime Harrison’s candidacy for U.S. Senate in South Carolina. Describing Harrison as a “centrist” and a “practical leader” who can work across the aisle and deliver for South Carolina, the editorial board also cast Sen. Lindsey Graham as the “…kowtowing opponent who has changed for the worse.”

“I’m proud to earn this endorsement from the Charleston City Paper,” Harrison said. “The Lowcountry deserves a senator who will finally focus on solving real problems facing the region, like affordable housing, climate change, and protecting the Lowcountry from offshore drilling. This movement is gaining momentum every day, and I look forward to bringing hope back to all 46 counties of South Carolina.”

Excerpts from the endorsement are below, and the full endorsement can be found HERE

“Be bold. Send real South Carolina values — truth, justice and doing the right thing — to Washington. Pick an opportunity-ist — someone who builds opportunities for people living in our poor state — instead of a career opportunist.”

“…he’s a centrist, a practical leader who has worked to move his party to the middle where most Americans live.”

“For business-minded, country-club Republicans who haven’t fallen in lock-step with the Trumpian wing of the GOP, Harrison’s business savvy could boost his appeal.”

“And Harrison has another big thing going for him as he spends millions of dollars he’s raised to boost his profile and story: He’s not Lindsey Graham, his kowtowing opponent who has changed for the worse.”
