Columbia, S.C. —  Today, Jaime Harrison, candidate for U.S. Senate, released the following statement after the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling on the lawsuit supported by Lindsey Graham aiming to overturn protections for people with pre-existing conditions in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

“Time and time again, we see Lindsey Graham put Washington political games before what’s best for South Carolinians,” Harrison said. “This case is no different. By supporting a lawsuit aimed towards gutting our current healthcare system, Sen. Graham, in no uncertain terms, is trying to put the health of the millions of Americans that rely on the ACA at risk. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time he’s tried ripping away access to affordable, quality care. From his inaction on rural hospital closures to his opposition to medicaid expansion, South Carolinians know his record on healthcare issues is horrendous.”
