COLUMBIA, S.C. (WPDE) — Jaime Harrison, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in South Carolina, released a statement and a series of tweets slamming Sen. Lindsey Graham for not attending impeachment proceedings.
“Taxpayers, including the millions of South Carolinians, have paid Senator Graham $2.8 million during his time as U.S. Senator, and he can’t even sit still for a few hours and listen to both sides of the impeachment trial,” Harrison said.
Harrison further claimed that Senator Graham “only cares about playing Washington political games and not the people of South Carolina.”
“As Senator, I will always put South Carolina first and focus on the issues that impact the lives of millions right here in the Palmetto State every single day,” the candidate said.
The statement comes as Senator Graham breaks the record for the largest amount of money ever in a single quarter by a candidate in South Carolina’s history.
